Mission

Wilkinson Center Auxiliary was founded in 2003 to support, serve and promote Wilkinson Center through educational, charitable, and service-oriented activities.  Renamed Friends of Wilkinson Center in 2010, members contribute their time, resources and talent to help ensure the continued success of the Center’s innovative programs.

In 2010, members raised $155,000 from their Tinsel and Dreams event and membership dues and donated over 2,500 volunteer hours in support of the Wilkinson Center.

Tinsel and Dreams

Tinsel and Dreams is the Friends of Wilkinson Center annual gala fundraising event.  It began in 2005 as an auction featuring table top Christmas trees decorated by designers, celebrities and businesses.  The following year Brinker International became lead sponsor of the event.

In 2010, the event at Union Station in Dallas included a silent and live auction, an elegant seated dinner and entertainment.  The proceeds from that event ($155,000) mean that over $545,000 has been raised for the Wilkinson Center in just six years.

Melanie Myers is the chair for the Friday, November 4, 2011 event at Union Station.  For more information visit wilkinsoncenter.ejoinme.org/tinsel
